The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) has confirmed that several military aircraft with the Russian Aerospace Forces, 2 Tu-95MS “Bear” Long-Range Strategic Bombers and 2 Su-35SM “Flanker-M” Multirole Fighters, violated the Alaskan Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) last night, resulting in the scramble of an E-3C “Sentry” Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) Aircraft, 4 F-16 “Fighting Falcon” Multirole Fighters, and 4 KC-135R “Stratotanker” Aerial-Refueling Tankers to track and intercepted the aircraft until they left the ADIZ
